In high school, my favorite part of everyday was producing the morning TV-announcements with my best friend. We did man on the street style interviews in our halls, and had a hilarious colorful intro.
That led me to choose Television Production to major in at Howard University. I was obsessed with learning as much as I could by seizing internships and opportunities in and around DC.
My first journalism role at PBS NewsHour is where my love for journalism blossomed. It's a simple observing and stating of facts, but it's everything but simple. And I love that.
When I took a leadership role at McClatchy (newspaper publishing company), I learned something new. I realized that local journalists were having unique experiences in their communities, with real big impact. And we can all learn from their work.
Now, my work is focused on connecting information, people and experiences to the communities they seek to reach.
